Noun Clauses and What-Clauses

Use noun clauses to talk about ideas, thoughts, and feelings.

Daniel's thinking

  1. Daniel understood what it felt like to start from the beginning.
  2. He remembered what people needed when they were new.
  3. He wondered what would have happened if he had left.
  4. He realized that he didn't need a new place to become a new person.
  5. He knew that the role would not be easy.
  6. He believed that helping others mattered.
  7. He saw that his past experience had prepared him.

Real examples

  2. She understands what beginners need.
  3. He realized that mistakes can help people grow.
  4. We believe that practice changes confidence.
