Use used to for past habits or past situations that are different now.

Daniel before

  1. Daniel used to worry about every small mistake.
  2. He used to be afraid of speaking.
  3. He used to avoid conversations.
  4. He used to stay quiet at work.
  5. He used to feel nervous in meetings.
  6. He didn't use to handle pressure well.
  7. He didn't use to ask many questions.

Now

  1. Now he handles problems differently.
  2. Now he joins conversations.
  3. Now he asks for help when he needs it.
  4. Now he understands that mistakes are part of learning.
  5. Now he can deal with pressure better.

Real examples

  1. I used to feel nervous when I spoke English.
  2. I used to translate every sentence.
  3. I used to avoid difficult conversations.
  4. I didn't use to ask questions.
  5. I didn't use to practice every day.
  6. Now I speak more confidently.
  7. Now I learn from mistakes.
