Start with a clause and land the sentence cleanly.

Don’t lose the main verb after the fronted clause.
SET 1 – “What…” Structures (3×5)
Clause first. Clear landing.

- What bothered him was the lack of detail.
- What made it worse was the silence.
- The reason I left early was that I felt sick.
- The reason we changed plans was that it was too expensive.
- The reason she hesitated was that she wasn’t sure.
- The reason they delayed it was that they needed approval.
- The reason he apologized was that he realized the mistake.
- What really matters is whether it works long term.
- What frustrates me is how often this happens.

Keep balance and tense control.
SET 3 – Natural Spoken Compression (3×5)
More fluid. Still controlled.

Start one sentence with “The reason…” and keep tense stable.
Repeat one of them slightly faster without losing structure.
