Start with a clause and land the sentence cleanly.

Don’t lose the main verb after the fronted clause.

    Keep balance and tense control.

  9. The reason she hesitated was that she wasn’t sure.
  10. The reason they delayed it was that they needed approval.
  11. The reason he apologized was that he realized the mistake.

    More fluid. Still controlled.

Start one sentence with “What I…” and finish it clearly.

Start one sentence with “The reason…” and keep tense stable.

Repeat one of them slightly faster without losing structure.
