Firm but neutral.

  4. I can’t agree without more details.
  5. I can’t promise that yet.
  6. I can’t make that decision alone.
  7. SET 2 – Using “I’m not able to…” (3×6)

    Slightly softer structure.

  8. I’m not able to join the meeting tomorrow.
  9. I’m not able to respond immediately.
  10. I’m not able to approve this yet.
  11. I’m not able to move it forward right now.
  12. I’m not able to change the schedule.
  13. I’m not able to guarantee the result.
  14. SET 3 – Boundary + Short Explanation (3×6)

    Still controlled. One added reason.

  15. I can’t do that because I’m already committed.
  16. I’m not able to help since I’m fully booked.
  17. I can’t stay longer because I have another meeting.
  18. I’m not able to approve it until we review it.
  19. I can’t move forward without confirmation.
  20. I’m not able to agree unless we adjust the plan.
